finally i've settled down in UIA, alhamdulillah..
it has been 2 weeks now and UIA is just great, except from the system and their english. ermm. hehe

there are 5 singaporeans for this sem 3; april 2009/2010 intake. me, rhy, yasmin (arab's cousin), + khuzaimah & natasha from zuhri. & the most important thing is, me n rhy are roommates! and also yasmin~ hee~ and my fellow friends from the same level are from singapore, indonesia, djibouti, saudi arabia, and also nigeria.. and being friends with international students are just awesome. hahaa.. it's really cool.. here are some of my int. friends that im pretty close with: Sukainah (Yaman), Zarkah (Kashmir), Firdows + Raudhah (Djibouti) & Hanan + Dhiya (Indonesia).. and actually i didn't even expect UIA to be "this" international.. so now i quite understand why uia's vision & mission is Islamization, Internationalization, Integration & Comprehensive Excellence. but i only agree fully on the internationalization part. :P


So, for the first week, we had Orientation Week for International Students. hee.. the committees are cool. On the first day (Tue, 13/4), we had Group Binding, mainly just to get to know each other with all the games n stuff..

The next day (Wed), we had APT (arabic placement test) and EPT (english placement test) briefing.. followed by Motivational Talk & Treasure Hunt. but erkk.. we didn't attend motiv. talk & treasure hunt!! xD we were too tired and anw, EPT & APT was just the next day. -_-" EPT was fine... but APT Core was oookay, it's like, u have to finish 15 pages in 2hours???!... and i was doing my APT in a very sleepy mode. and i tried to fight fight and fight until i finish everything. and alhamdulillah i passed my EPT, also my APT core :) and that night, we had Grand Dinner. cheh ade lilin2 sumer... the aura was good, but the food was so-so. xD

We had no programs on friday. wohoo! so me, rhy & sukainah went to giant @ batu caves to buy stuffs and eat something good. lol. really had fun. laughters non-stop. and Suka juz cant stop talking, well, what do u expect from a Law student ;p

and Saturday was the best day.. we had our KL Tour (eksyen2 tk knl KL ah).. lols. we went to Putrajaya (ate Secret Recipe), then to Planetarium, then to KLCC and lastly we went to Muzium Islam ape ntah, tk igt... tp bessssst!! =))) then balik UIA..

Our APT core & EPT results were released last monday & tues. and as i mentioned earlier. i passed both. so for APT, i had to take APT skills (listening, speaking, reading & writing) which was on Tuesday. it took us from morning 9am - 5pm *faints*, but of coz we had some short breaks in between. and right after APT skills, we had our first day of Ta'aruf week, which is compulsory for all malaysian & international students.

the dress codes for the the whole week are either formal, sports or Batik. haha! yeah we were given 1 baju batik and the color for our batch is grey with purple flowers. it was okay for me :) we were also given attendance sheet, and there are 8 slots, u'll be given diff color of stickers for each slot at an unknown time & prog. so being a good girl, =P, i attended all the programs .. wahah... most of the programs are briefings about this and that, just to understand UIA better.. but hmm, its quite embarrassing when almost all of the presenters explained in broken english. *sigh* this is an international university lah.. zzz.

on the last day, we had to sleep in the mosque cuz of qiyam. but wuhuuu.. lucky im a girl xp so i continued sleeping until 8am.. woke up, took a shower.. n off to Tour d Campus.. then we had our course registration. oh sorry, for the APT skills, i failed my reading & writing =X haha.. so cant exit to Kulliyyah yet.. im still in "Pre-Sessional something2" in CELPAD. so for this semester, im going to study only Quranic Language Skills for Reading & Writing. Aft Kuliyyah registration, went back to Mahallah and showered again and prepared myself for Bai'ah Ceremony! which is the highlight of the Ta'aruf Week. i like the IIUM song. haha! we had to rehearse everyday! sampai terhafal. haha! so during the Bai'ah, we had to read the student's oath.. "We, as the students of the Int. Islamic Uni. Malaysia, solemnly pledge................................................................."
and right after the oath, im now officially an IIUM student =)))

So my class started today, 2 classes everyday for this 2 months, my Lecturer is from Sudan. haha he's cute. and what i like about him is, he's very generous in giving mufradaat.. and he will keep explaining until we really2 understand =)

One more thing i need to share is, CATS are just everywhere in UIA. huhuu.... im currenly a mother to 1 Cat and her 3 kittens. hahaha.. me n rhy rescued 2 of the kittens from drowning last week okayy when it was raining heavily.. and the 1 of the kittens was really2 screaming for help that i can hear it on level 5.. quickly went down and pull out the cat from the small drain.. haha. dirty job. i dont care e e e e e ~ =P

i guess that's all fr now.. more stories to come.. i neeed to take a shower first, then im going to do some revision :)) okay takecare all.. hope u guys enjoyed reading this post..
oh one more thing, im going back to singapore this friday! yay!! i miss my laptop, i miss my family, i miss mom's cooking, i miss my house and the most important thing is, i miss my CAT! :D
